Presence at international trade fairs

To promote the innovations and products of member companies, the ALPHA-RLH cluster works with companies at the various important international trade fairs in the sector. The cluster’s operations teams organize the on-site logistics (reserving a stand/reserving furniture/on-site publicity) and cover part of the costs.

The ALPHA-RLH cluster’s participation in professional fairs

Direct access to Chinese, US and Japanese markets through the cluster’s sales representative

To provide better support for SMEs in launching their innovations on foreign markets and strengthening existing relations, the ALPHA-RLH cluster has set up local assistance to facilitate commercial relations:

> Our presence in China

Balthazar Boyer, the China Delegate, is based in Wuhan and in Suzhou. He provides assistance for the cluster’s companies and ensures that they have visibility and representation with Chinese actors and institutions.

In particular, he participates in the local trade fairs Laser World of Photonics, CIOE, Laser Fair, iLope, EDI CON and OVC.

> Our presence in the United States

The ALPHA-RLH cluster supports its members´ US development projects through its partnership with big bang factory, a growth accelerator located in San Francisco and in New York.

This partnership enables members to approach the US market through the various services provided, such as potential market assessment, identification of distributors and partners, legal, HR and fiscal assistance.

Local presence is provided by Marie Buhot-Launay and her network of experts and successful entrepreneurs.

> Our presence in Japan

Since 2017, ALPHA-RLH has been targeting Japan for a future location. Since April 1st 2021, ALPHA-RLH is ready to open an office in Japan. This office will be located in Tokyo with the partnership of CCI France Japan.

Romain Montini, our Mission Japan delegate, will be your contact to answer your needs and facilitate your access to the Japanese market or to promote your collaborations with Japanese academics, companies or institutions. As with all our international targets, we also offer to represent you at Japanese trade shows.

The PIMAP+ European project to support SME internationalization

Gathering six European clusters (ALPHA-RLH/France, Triple Steelix/Sweden, Business Joensuu & Photonics Finland/Finland, Produtech/Portugal, AFIL/Italy and Moravian Aerospace Cluster/Czech Republic), PIMAP+ aims to enhance cross sectorial collaboration between photonic, advanced manufacturing, steel and aerospace industries.

After two years dedicated to international market analysis and the establishment of first contacts during PIMAP Partnership strand 1 in the US and Canada, the next stage will focus on accelerating access to international markets for SMEs. In addition to the American market, Asian market will be a focal point through China and Japan.

In the context of covid-19 travel restrictions, PIMAP+ consortium is adapting its strategy by participating and organising digital events in order to support its members at the international level. On 16th and 17th June 2021, the consortium organised a sino-european innovation forum co-organised with the Department of International Cooperation, Ministry of Science and Technology (China) and Beijing Zhongguancun Overseas Science Park Co., Ltd. It enabled European and Chinese academic and companies to present their innovation and technological products, and to foster the relationship between the two areas. Replay of Sino-European forum

The second half of the year will be dedicated to the participation to European exhibitions through the establishment of a delegation of companies to EMO Milano (4th to 9th October) focused on machine tool, in Italy.

In 2022, PIMAP+ is willing to organise a delegation of SMEs to the two following international fairs: Photonics West (25/27 january 2022) in San Francisco and Arizona Photonics Days (19/21 january 2022) in Tucson in the United-States, and Manufacturing World Japan (22/24 june 2022) in Tokyo in Japan. Date and location of business missions in Canada and China will be communicated as soon as possible.

With the support of CCI International Nouvelle-Aquitaine, the ALPHA-RLH cluster offers its member companies strategic support in international development through:

• Diagnosis of the company and its ability to develop internationally
• Market surveys/target countries in relation to the company at its maturity and its needs
• Assistance in establishing business contacts
• Contact with other members of the cluster with the same goals
• Comprehensive support in the international development process
