Launched in April 2020, the European NewSkin project was successfully completed in December 2024.
Coordinated by the ECCS (European Convention for Constructional Steelwork), this project focused on surface and membrane nanotechnologies. NewSkin was an Open Innovation Test Bed (OITB) that provided access to physical facilities and services for the development, validation, and commercialization of new nanotechnology products.
Its portfolio of services included the provision of 10 facilities for surface treatment (laser treatment and texturing, CVD, PVD, Sol-Gel, etc.), 9 facilities for testing treatments under real conditions (climatic chamber, offshore platform, etc.) and services to assist in the commercialization of nanotechnology products.
ALPHA-RLH was one of 34 partners involved in dissemination and communication activities, the management of open calls for projects, and the NewSkin online platform.
