On Saturday, October 10, from 10:00 a.m. to 5:30 p.m., step inside the Institut d’Optique d’Aquitaine in Talence and come discover photonics in a whole new way as part of the 2026 Science Festival!

The Institut d'Optique and ALPhANOV are joining forces to offer you a rich and exciting program focused on the sciences of light: 

🔸Get a behind-the-scenes look at research through exclusive tours of the Digital Photonics and Nanosciences Laboratory (LP2N) and ALPhANOV: 3D laser cutting, quantum physics experiments, super-resolution microscopy…

🔸Take part in interactive experiments: diffraction phenomena, observing a photonic chip, playing with a thermal camera…

🔸 Attend a one-of-a-kind lecture: “What Can a Quantum Sensor Installed at the Summit of a Volcano Reveal?” by Jean Lautier-Gaud, physicist and author of the book *Les dentelles noires de l’Etna*

🔸 Meet our students and faculty at the Photonics Education Village
