Materials for tomorrow's photonics

ALPHA-RLH and the European Ceramics Cluster, with the support of Saint-Gobain Aerospace, organized a day dedicated to the latest technological advances in the design of advanced materials for photonics on January 14, 2026, in Limoges .

75 participants attended the conferences, which focused on two themes: Materials for free-space components (ceramics, single crystals, glass) and Surface functionalization - guided optics (optical fibers, waveguides, PIC) - metrology.

We were delighted to welcome the French National Center for Space Studies (CNES) for a keynote speech on "Materials for Space Optics," as well as speakers from industry and science.

The event concluded with a visit to CITRA (Center for Engineering in Advanced Surface Treatments and Coatings) and Leukos (EXAIL group), a company specializing in supercontinuum laser sources.
