From May 4 to 11, 2025, the ALPHA-RLH cluster, the Naquidis Center dedicated to quantum technologies, and academic stakeholders (including the University of Limoges, the XLIM, ICMCB, LP2N, and IOGS laboratories) took part in a mission to Quebec. Organized by the Nouvelle-Aquitaine Region, in the presence of Regional President Alain Rousset, the mission aimed to strengthen and develop the ties established with Quebec over the past 25 years, encouraging collaboration in new technologies and higher education.
The delegation members visited the MiQro Innovation Collaboration Center (C2MI) in Bromont, the Interdisciplinary Institute for Technological Innovation (3IT), the Quantum Institute and the DistriQ Technopole in Sherbrooke, as well as the Optics, Photonics and Lasers Center at Laval University in Quebec City. Participants were able to discover expertise in fiber optics, electronic systems, and the field of quantum technology.
These visits highlighted potential synergies between research facilities in Nouvelle-Aquitaine and Quebec, particularly in the fields of optics and quantum technologies, and fostered exchanges that could lead to future partnerships.
The integrated innovation chain (from basic research to production, including prototyping) established by the University of Sherbrooke could become a model of collaboration for the development of the Naquidis Center.
