Posté le 09 décembre 2020
PhotonHub Europe, a new pan-European photonics digital innovation hub, has been awarded 19 € million funding from the EU’s Horizon 2020 programme.
The project coordinated by the Vrije Universiteit Brussel (VUB) will kick-off on 1 January 2021 and will help European SMEs and mid-caps with digitalisation process through faster deployment of photonics-based technologies, creating over 1 000 new high-tech EU jobs and 1 € billion in new revenues and venture capital by 2025.
The consortium includes 5 French photonics related clusters acting as linked-third-parties of national photonics association Photonics France: OPTITEC, ALPHA-RLH, Minalogic, Systematic and Images & Réseaux (through its partnership with a local cluster Photonics Bretagne).
In order to accelerate the uptake and deployment of photonics technologies by European industry, PhotonHub will establish a single photonics innovation hub providing cascade funding and open access to the best-in-class photonics know-how and experience of 53 top European competence centres.
